Livin’ Proof Cultivations is a medical cannabis processing facility based out of Maryland. For them, cannabis is a tool for reconnection—one that empowers us to heal, redefine wellness, and carry ancestral knowledge forward.

Livin’ Proof Cultivations approached SOUN to help establish their brand identity and a full 360 brand launch. We helped develop their logo, brand positioning, packaging, brand guidelines, and art direction. In addition, a founders video.

The owners wanted the brand to evoke a way of living that reflected how their ancestors once moved—in rhythm with the earth, growing what they needed, and nurturing what sustained them. During our conversations with their team we uncovered insightful context that helped drive design decisions. The one ask from them was to incorporate three symbols.

1) Eye of Osiris - symbol of protection, royal power, and good health
2) Snake - associated with royalty, divinity, protection, and even the sun's power
3) Sun - the creator and ruler of the world

RESULTS

The challenge of incorporating three symbols with a logo is initially a design team's nightmare. However, this was an exciting challenge to confront. With experimentation and iteration we were able to get to the perfect mark. A mark that is ancient with a modern feel. Powerful on its own, but rhythmic next to text.

The color palette came naturally. A true reflection of horticulture. The brown symbolizing the foundational soil needed to cultivate. Moving to the water which rejuvenates the fertile ground and onward to the sun that creates life and meaning. This poetic approach to developing a color palette has given the colors depth and purpose.

The thoughtful color palette allowed us to create an intentional design system for packaging. Each color correlating to specific strains of cannabis. Communicating to consumers visually and through text lends to a better understanding and knowledge of their products.
